CIB funding has been secured to remove and replace existing playground equipment at Hancock Recreation Center. Site improvements will be included to improve accessibility, safety, and security with updated landscaping, fencing, and site furnishing.
The first meeting was held at Hancock Recreation Center on Wednesday, December 2nd. Attendees included representatives from the Saint Paul Public Schools, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, and the community. We reviewed and discussed site analysis, current conditions, community likes/dislikes and what they want to see incorporated into an updated playground. In addition to reviewing new play equipment styles, an updated concept design was presented with potential layouts for the equipment selected. Thank you to those who were able to attend.
The second meeting held at Hancock Recreation Center on Wednesday, February 10th, included repeat attendees along with a few additional community members. We reviewed an updated concept design and equipment layouts based on recommendations received from the previous meeting, surfacing options, and site furnishings. Before we adjourned, the community made decisions regarding these items along with choosing a general color pallet they would like integrated into the play area.
